First time parents don't realize what is in store for them as they bring home their little bundle of joy home. Life will never be the same again for the two of them. They will learn how to change the babies diapers, bathing, swaddle, and feed their baby and what are the things that you need to take care of and observe especially during the initial months of growth and development. Babies need a lot of tender loving care from parents in order to establish a strong bond and build a long-lasting relationship.
If you are handling a baby for the very first time, giving your little one a bath can be quite an ordeal for you. You will probably be worried about whether the water temperature might be right, if the position you are holding the child unto is comfortable and a lot of other little things like shampooing his delicate head. The more you do it, the easier it gets. After a while, it will be a piece of cake and your baby and you can enjoy this time together! All it requires is a little experience and some expert guidance during the initial stages. To make things easier for you, make sure that you assemble all the required items for bath in advance and nearby. It is not a good idea to leave your baby alone in the tub or basin even for a few minutes. Initially, your baby will require only a sponge bath and later on can progress to a tub bath.
Eye Care is also very important for a baby. Parents should check the vision on a daily basis. As the baby grows, they should start focusing their eyes on objects and even move them from side to side following people or things that capture their liking.
Scheduled doctor's visits are "well-baby visits." These medical checkups are traditionally scheduled 2-3 months apart, or at the discretion of your doctor. Regular checkups will screen for disorders within the cardiac, respiratory and endocrine systems. Early detection is key to managing your child's health.
Healthy, or "normally developing" children, require medical checkups by a physician on a regular basis. As always, if emergencies or areas of concern arise in between formal visits, parents are urged to contact a medical professional as soon as possible.
One of the most difficult things you will face as a parent is putting your baby to sleep. You will actually teach your baby to distinguish between night and day. Swaddling your baby at night time should help them sleep a little better also, playing some soft music, dimming the lights and rocking your baby lightly are some of the tips you can use to help your baby sleep better.
Most importantly, make sure that your baby stays healthy. A healthy baby is a joy to watch and a very huge responsibility as a parent to maintain the baby's good health.
